Health & Safety

At Cheeky Potatoes we follow a strict code of practice regarding hygiene and use a clean sponge for every face and each paintbrush is cleaned before application. Only water- based safe face paints that are approved and tested for use on the skin are used. We advise the removal of our face paints with mild soap and water and not wipes as wipes can sometimes make the paint stain. As with any cosmetic product, we cannot guarantee a reaction will not occur.

We will only paint children that can tell us what they want on their faces. It is up to the discretion of the face painter to refuse any child they feel is too young or those that are unwell, have cold sores, runny nose, conjunctivitis, eczema or open sore.

All faces must be clean prior to being painted.

Important information regarding Henna application:

Having henna applied during a healthy pregnancy is generally safe but it is always a good idea to speak with your doctor. We only use natural henna, lemon juice, sugar and lavender oil. It is important to keep the ingredients simple during pregnancy so you don’t stress the body, baby, or cause an allergic reaction

Henna should be avoided or used sparingly if you are extremely anaemic or the baby has G6PD deficiency. Designs usually last 7-10 days, depending on body chemistry, how long the paste was allowed to soak in, and location on the body.

Henna always lasts longest on the hands and feet, less on the torso where skin is thinner. It is very important to keep in mind that natural henna stains a reddish brown color and needs to soak on the skin 4-8 hours. The color will be a light orange at first and darken to a richer shade over 2 days.

We only use pure Henna and never black Henna.
